The 13s group continued to build momentum this weekend, showcasing competitive play and emerging leadership on both sides of the ball. Giuliana Punla fueled the offense with 16 strong kills, while Gracen Calixton anchored the team with steady decision-making, contributing the majority of assists and adding dependable defensive effort. Together, their consistency and composure helped shape a confident showing early in the season.
16 Elite demonstrated grit and continued growth, responding to challenges with poise and teamwork. Emmy Abar delivered an impressive performance in her first tournament back from injury, strengthening the team’s defensive presence and boosting serve-receive quality. At the net, Kawai Akau made a major impact with key blocks—and the team rallied around her as they also celebrated her birthday, adding to the group’s chemistry and energy.
16 Power 1 battled through a competitive opening weekend of Power League in San Mateo, finishing 2–3 while continuing to refine their rhythm and identity. Despite dropping from 75th to 85th, the team showed clear growth from their play in Colorado, signaling positive momentum ahead. Offensively, Ada Kowalewski led with 15 kills, followed closely by Sara Yang’s 14. Cielo Valle set the offensive pace with a team-high in assists and also led in service aces, while Anisha Palawala delivered a standout efficient performance, hitting .476 with 11 kills. Defensively, Marlee Maghanoy anchored the backcourt with 28 digs, with Sarah Yang close behind at 25—highlighting the team’s commitment to long rallies and second effort plays.
16 Power 2 continued to take meaningful steps forward, showing greater cohesion and stronger execution across all phases. Joanna Li led the offensive charge with the most kills, providing a steady scoring presence. In serve receive, Sofia Santiano posted the team’s highest passing percentage at 2.0, showing consistency under pressure. Natalia Barretero made her mark at the net, leading the team in blocks and helping control the tempo defensively. Collectively, the group’s progress reflects growing chemistry and trust.
14 Power 2 displayed resilience and improved ball control throughout their WCVBA League weekends. Tien Vo and Alexis Cabebe delivered strong serve-receive performances, keeping the team in system during key stretches. Offensively, Gwen Ilog led the team in kills, providing reliable production as the group continues to sharpen its identity.
